In an interview with the Western Australian, German countertenor Andreas Scholl offers a refreshingly positive and self-affirming view of his voice type.

I think these days the audience knows what a countertenor is…But it’s that inability to readily categorise the voice that makes for better communication – you listen with fresh ears, and focus more on the words.
