BEMF 2011: Boston Bruins Win, BEMF Bear Dances
The Boston Bruins Hockey Team hasn’t won the Stanley Cup since 1972, which means that their victory last week called for serious celebration.
For the thousands of early music enthusiasts who attended the Boston Early Music Festival, the win may have been more of a non-event for most—unless you tried to cross the victory parade route on Saturday while trying to make the next concert—except one member of the BEMF opera, Niobe, Regina di Tebe.
The bear, which appears at several points in the production (played by Jay Lloyd Smith), was ecstatic over the Bruins win.
