Do People Really Like Pachelbel’s “Canon”?

If a YouTube video performance by Voices of Music is anything to go by, the answer is definitely “yes.” As you can see from the image above, their version of Johann Pachelbel‘s “Canon” is not far from reaching 1.5 million views.

It’s an impressive feat, to say the least, no doubt due to the timeless nature of the work and a fine performance, a combination that anyone on the street would find attractive.

So why not watch for yourself? It’ll probably be the most peaceful four minutes and forty seconds you’ll spend today.

The musicians are Katherine Kyme, Carla Moore, and Cynthia Miller Freivogel, violins, Tanya Tomkins, cello, David Tayler, theorbo, and Hanneke van Proosdij, chamber organ.
