This week’s podcast includes some really beautiful music.

I won’t go much into it since my impressions are already in the podcast, but I will say that if Les Voix Baroques’ new ATMA recording is anything to go by, Montreal must have incredibly vibrant early music scene. I’ve yet to hear an ensemble or recording I didn’t like that came from there.

Private Musicke is an ensemble previously unknown to me and a great find. They perform the music of Alonso Mudarra and contemporaries in such a special way. In fact, the recording reinvigorated my love of Mudarra’s songs and instrumental works. Soprano Raquel Andueza is a veritable treasure.
