Piffaro‘s latest recording of music from the English Renaissance is a terrific survey of the repertoire, giving you an idea of the many kinds of instruments and combinations that can bring to life that sound world. As usual, Piffaro delivers a world-class performance.

As for Ensemble Caprice‘s recording, it’ll probably surprise you to hear Vivaldi‘s Gloria, the most famous of his choral works, performed by a chorus entirely made up of women (as was done in his day). Yes, it’s a bit of a shock, but with such a beautiful performance, you forget very quickly.
