Purcell Odes and Welcome Songs

The King’s Consort newly repacked Hyperion recording of Henry Purcell’s complete odes and welcome songs is a treasure. It allowed me to both enjoy some of my favorite of his works (a re-acquaintance of sorts) and discover pieces that I hadn’t yet heard.

ORLANDOviols debut

Listening to ORLANDOviols’ debut CD of Renaissance consort music was like meeting some new that you spend little time with and know that you’d like to get to know them better. Thankfully, the recording will have company in the coming year with a second already in works.
