How to photograph your chamber ensemble

After spending years looking at countless ensemble photographs, official and otherwise, I’ve stumbled on just a handful that were effective in terms of marketing—unconventional, eye-catching, and as a result, memorable.
The latest to grab my attention is a portrait of the Brazilian recorder quartet Quinta Essentia, which decided to forgo the traditional, conservative shot and give us something altogether different.
I think it speaks for itself.
