In Celebration of J.S. Bach’s Birthday

Many of Johann Sebastian Bach‘s most beautiful and touching small-scale compositions are part of the standard chamber music repertory. They are what I call ‘masterpieces in miniature.’

A personal favorite of mine and one I enjoy performing is the sonata in E minor for flute and basso continuo, BWV 1034.  I particularly love the third movement—Andante. It never fails to move me.
