Based in Innsbruck, Austria, the young and mysteriously-named moderntimes_1800 is an orchestra devoted to historical performance (read: period instrument) and music of the 20th Century.

Led by violinist Ilia Korol and oboist Julia Moretti, the ensemble has a respectable discography, which includes works by Johannes Brahms, George Onslow, and a number of the 18th-century composers.

Their most recent CD, on the Challenge Classics label, is devoted to the strings concertos of Johann Gottlieb Graun, a world-premiere recording.

Listen to the final Allegro from Graun’s concerto for 2 solo violins, 2 horns, strings & continuo in F major.
