As few early music links of note.

  • Purcell For Two: Andreas Scholl and Philippe Jaroussky have teamed up in a program of Henry Purcell duets. An interview with Tom Service  draws out some fascinating and candid responses.
  • Folk and Early Music Meld at Aldeburgh: The Scottish ensemble Concerto Caledonia was recently in residence at the Aldeburgh Music performance center in England. Watch ensemble director David McGuinness talk about the group’s residency and mission. Related: McGuinness maintains a fantastic blog.
  • Mozart Promotes Sweetness in Bananas: The Japanese Toyoka Chuo Seik fruit company has been playing Mozart’s music to help ripen bananas, apparently making them noticeably sweeter than usual. Go figure.
