A few early music links of note.

  • Padmore at the Wigmore: English tenor Mark Padmore marks upcoming appearances at London’s Wigmore Hall with a conversation about his musical background and interests.
  • Speed limit: Tenor John Mark Ainsley impresses with speed (and control) in Handel’s aria “I must with speed amuse her.”
  • No man is an island: …unless you’re Gerard Lesne. The pre-eminent French countertenor’s website, what he calls “mon île,” is a wonderful tour of his rich musical interests in Early Music and “Pop Jazz.”
  • Getting to know a young countertenor: Iestyn Davies is one of the most prominent countertenors of his generation. Davies’ recent appearance at Wigmore Hall included a pre-concert talk.
