Gottfried Finger‘s name is easily recognized by recorder players. His prolific number of compositions for the recorder are standard repertoire for enthusiast and professional alike. Finger’s surviving compositions are, however, much more varied and include chamber music for the violin, viola da gamba, and oboe, as well as theater works.

The following track is of a sonata in D major for viola da gamba and basso continuo, performed by gambist Petr Wagner.
