Continuing in a series of posts on the bass viol, which refers to the double bass and not the bass viola da gamba (as I had originally thought), here’s the “Big Bass Viol(in) Song” performed by basso profondo Larry Hooper and bassist Buddy Hayes, who step out of their usual places as members of the Lawrence Welk orchestra for a moment in the spotlight.
