Video: Musica Antiqua Köln Performs J.S. Bach

One of the finest period instrument ensembles of the last few decades, Musica Antiqua Köln was capable of spell-binding artistry. All of the repertoire they tackled left a great impression that, for better or worse, could not be ignored.

I say “was” because the group disbanded a few years ago (to the dismay of many fans, including me) after their director and founder, Reinhard Goebel, decided it was time to move on.

Thankfully, we have a large discography to remind us of how truly special they really were. As well, there are videos, such as the following, where we can see them in action.

Here’s the ensemble performing Johann Sebastian Bach‘s Contrapunctus V and VI from Die Kunst der Fuge, BWV 1080.
