Video: Pacific Musicworks Performs Monteverdi

The year 2010 was a propitious one for Claudio Monteverdi‘s “Marian Vespers.” It was, after all, the 400th anniversary of a work long considered to be a masterpiece.
With performances having taken place around the world (and multiple ones in major cities), you might wonder if audiences are a little “vespered-out.”
I suspect the opposite is true. Partially because the music’s power and beauty never get old, and because well-attended performances continued into 2011.
The video below is an excerpt from a December performance by Pacific Musicworks of Psalm 147, Lauda Jerusalem (directed by Stephen Stubbs).
