Video: Ton Koopman plays Buxtehude

Ton Koopman is the august director of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, one of the finest period instrument ensembles. He’s also a guiding light of the Early Music movement and an early keyboard virtuoso with few peers.

The video below, from the Dutch television program Vrije Geluiden, shows Koopman to still be at the top of his game. Performing on a modestly-sized chamber organ, he gives an authoritative performance of Dieterich Buxtehude‘s Fugue in C major, BuxWV 174.

His spirit is infectious.
