A Thanksgiving-related video in which Moira Smiley and VOCO (pictured) show off their virtuosic body percussion skills. Ironically titled “Tryptophan Hand Jive,” the live performance encapsulates the group’s energy—intense, driven, and magnetic.

I can still recall VOCO’s Bloomington Early Music Festival (BLEMF) concert from a few years ago when they presented a wonderful collection of early and traditional American song, subsequently aired on Harmonia.

Moira has since rejuvenated VOCO and brought together a new set of colleagues for more exciting music-making, yet the former members had a special connection (evident in the video).
